Bora-Bora - day 1

My excursion today wasn’t until 1 PM I decided to do the rays and snorkeling and the sharks. I slept in a little late again and made my way up to get something to eat at this beautiful café I told you about yesterday. It’s at the front of the ship and I had my coffee and little baby sandwiches and then I had cookies and milk LOL.

Before long it was time to make my way down to the tender and tender into the port to pick up the boat that would take us on the snorkel and sharks and rays trip.

There were about 10 of us on board with a crew of three and the crew was great. Music is such a big part of their life here in this part of the world every tour I’ve been on we’ve been serenaded with beautiful music.

The pictures are going to speak for themselves but I’m not sure I’ll be able to post them until I’m back home.

But I did get some good pictures with my camera so I’ll post those now. It just felt so amazing to get back in that water and snorkel with all the fish and see all the beautiful healthy coral!

The rain never touched us!!!

We were in the water for maybe 30 minutes at the first stop where the sharks and rays were. But honestly I felt like it was a better shark Ray experience in Moorea. But then we made our way out towards the reef and the coral was beautiful tons of fish swimming all around us. I was in that water for an hour and it felt like five minutes.  so beautiful

Just look at that coral waiting for us!!!!!

The water was 6-7 feet deep. The current was not bad at all. I wore a life jacket but kept it deflated.

This is one of my favorite pictures!!!

The Conrad Hilton!

I’ve never seen a rainbow like that up against the mountains!

Good night from   Bora-Bora!!!!!

Well, actually not quite good night lol. I had to have my dinner I forgot to tell you about and then the entertainment.

After getting back to the ship, I needed to get ready for my dinner this evening. I was having dinner at the candles restaurant which is sort of like their specialty restaurant but you don’t have to pay extra for it. I ordered an 8 ounce filet mignon and yes people I did eat the whole thing I did not have any potatoes but I did have an appetizer of shiitake mushrooms which complemented the steak. They also had three different kinds of seasoning salt one was like up had a little baby taste the other two were sea salt and I can’t remember but I tried all of them and they were they were quite good interesting addition to the steak and mushrooms . I don’t think I have a lot of food porn because it was so good I forgot to take pictures.

I met a solo traveler at dinner the other night and invited him to join me at candles. So it was nice to have someone to chat with over dinner. Then, we went up to the compass rose for the music. They have two really good bands here amazing voices just just wonderful entertainment. We listened to the music and had cocktails and this girl apparently had enough drinks that dancing became an option. I’m pretty sure I’m glad that no pictures are available of that Ha!

I got back to my cabin and it was quite late and this person was tired.  I have not been up past ten !   The excursions and the heat and humidity really take a toll on you.
