I got up about 7 and went in search of my breakfast! They had a regular menu and the buffet. I chose the cold buffet for a mere $35.60! Yes, I know. Everything here is very expensive but you are in the middle of the Pacific Ocean!!
Same sort of European selections. I think I ate my weight in fresh fruit! Papaya, Watermelon, grapefruit, anything tropical it was amazing! And of course the huge selection of French cheeses oh my God! Heaven! TheCoffee here is very different than what we have in the United States. It’s a lot darker and stronger and they serve it with real cream and your choice of granulated brown sugar or white sugar. The brown sugar gives it a unique taste.
Then I headed over to that gorgeous pool found myself a lovely chair in the shade and settled in for the morning. I ended up chatting with a lovely German man who was also a solo traveler. He apparently had more money than God as I think he has traveled to almost every country in the world. We talked off on for several hours of our love for seeing other areas of the world.
As I said before this resort also has its own lagoonarium. It appears to be fed directly from the sea and must have some sort of mechanism to keep out the larger fish and sharks because I did not see any of those in there. There was a large amount of various types of tropical fish it was very beautiful.One thing to note is if you visit Tahiti, remember to bring water shoes the ocean floor is very rocky.
I returned to the pool area for more sun and conversation.
I went back to my room and cleaned up for happy hour. It’s from 430-630 and certain drinks are half price—- And unless you enjoy paying 21-25 for 1 drink, you enjoy the happy hour drinks. LOL
The dinner menu is somewhat limited but I am not here for the food!! Last night I had a Caesar salad with shrimp and tonight I called it a night after an order of fries!
